First Alert Weather Day on Saturday and Sunday brings snow and rain to the mountains in the Denver metro area. Colorado's weather pattern is changing quite a bit as a cold front moves in Saturday morning, bringing snow to the mountains and rain to the Denver metro area and Colorado's Front Range. Temperatures will drop to above 18 degrees in the metro area on Saturday. On Sunday, daytime highs will reach the mid-13s as fall officially begins at 6:43 a.m. Sunday morning.

Snow will accumulate in the mountains above 8,500 feet Saturday night through Sunday. A winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday through noon Sunday for Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow Range, as well as the Summit County mountains, Mosquito Range and Indian Peaks, where 4 to 9 inches of snow are expected. Behind this system, the sun will return and temperatures will reach 70 degrees again to start the week.
