Meteorologists from CBS News Texas have issued a weather warning due to the rain.

Nearly 4 inches of rain have fallen in the DeSoto and Hutchins areas in the last three hours. The cold front is bringing fall air back to North Texas and continuing to move south and east.

When the cold front moved in around 5 a.m., it was 22 degrees at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Temperatures throughout North Texas dropped to just over 18 degrees.

For the rest of the day, the chance of rain is about 20%, after which the morning rain will give way to a mix of sun and clouds.

As for opening day of the State Fair of Texas, there is a slight chance of rain, but temperatures will remain above 80°F all week.
