Kanpur Weather Forecast: The second Test between India and Bangladesh is expected to face frequent rain disruptions.

Rohit Sharma's India will face Najmul Hossain Shanto's Bangladesh in the second Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. After suffering a 280-run defeat in the first Test in Chennai, Bangladesh will be aiming to bounce back and level the series. The visitors face a daunting task against a dominant Indian side, but their hope of redemption may depend not just on their performance but also on the unpredictable Indian monsoon, which threatens to play a role in the game.

According to the AccuWeather App, thunderstorms and rain are expected on the first match day, which may lead to disruptions. Day 2 is expected to be cloudy, with the possibility of further thunderstorms in the area. The third day on Sunday, often considered a 'moving day' in a Test match, could also see rain early in the morning, followed by cloudy skies for the rest of the day.

Fortunately, the weather is expected to clear on days 4 and 5.

The hourly forecast in Kanpur suggests the possibility of a thunderstorm as early as 10 am on the first day, which may last for two hours. Another thunderstorm is also expected at 1 p.m. The game usually starts at 9:30am, which means we may face a long delay if the prediction holds true.

Dangerous position

Adding to the concerns is the security issue raised by the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD), which has identified one of the stands at the stadium as dangerous. According to government officials, the Balcony C stand may not be able to support the full weight during the game.

This has led to the decision to sell less than half of the tickets for this stand, reducing the number of spectators allowed in this area.

India are 1-0 up in the series and remain firmly at the top of the table in the World Test Championship. After the Tests against Bangladesh, India will face the team in three T20Is before returning to red-ball action against New Zealand next month; The Kiwis visit India for three Tests.
