JoJo Siwa is opening up about her wild sense of style after dividing her fans with an extremely daring and unexpected photoshoot.

The 21-year-old former Dance Moms dancer spoke to People for the magazine's “Rules for Life” series and admitted that the wilder she is, the better she is at surprising her fans with her ever-evolving fashion.

The Nebraska native said, “When I discover a style, I ask myself, 'How can I be so messed up, so weird, so crazy?' That's something I really enjoy.”

JoJo, who came out as queer in January 2021, admitted that her approach to style makes people “turn their heads and say, why is she wearing that, what is she doing?”

The former Nickelodeon star also told the magazine that she likes to experiment with her makeup because she believes it “really has the potential to make or break a look.”

The TikTok influencer's glamour often includes glittery rainbows and, more recently, a turn to KISS-inspired black-and-white rock star face paint as she's tried her hand at a career in pop music.

A particularly shocking ensemble was the puffball, which she combined with lime green monster boots, which she wore at the Christian Cowan's show at New York Fashion Week on September 8th.

“It's crazy that I'm wearing the fur ball, but the green makeup is the icing on the cake,” said the Karma singer.

The puffy black outfit caused controversy, with one Instagram commenter comparing it to “the olive floating in my martini.”

Another joked, “Why does it look like the keychain I had on my backpack in fourth grade?”

But this is all part of the plan – including the backlash.

“Think of as much craziness as you can, or something you're too scared to ever do before. And that's exactly what I want to do,” JoJo said in the video interview.

JoJo's most controversial piece of clothing to date is the rhinestone-encrusted breastplate and jockstrap with phallic details that she wore on the cover of LadyGunn magazine.
