Micah Parsons injury update: Cowboys LB makes final statement on status

After suffering what appeared to be a stinger in the first half against the New York Giants, Micah Parsons suffered another injury in the fourth quarter and did not return. However, he subsequently made a final statement regarding his future status.

Parsons walked limping around the locker room after appearing to suffer a lower leg injury in the final minutes The Athletics Jon Machota. However, the star linebacker said Dak Prescott “I’ll be good,” which is a good sign that the Cowboys will give a little bye after that Thursday Night Football Matchup.

Parsons left the field at MetLife Stadium on a cart in the fourth quarter after suffering the injury. He did not return as the Cowboys secured the 20-15 victory over the Giants and improved to 2-2 on the young season.

Afterward, Parsons spoke to reporters and said X-rays of his ankle came back negative. He also has an MRI scheduled for Friday that could help determine his status for next week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the former Penn State Star said he would try to give it a try.

In the first half of Thursday's game, Parsons moved to tackle Wan'Dale Robinsonteammate Mazi Smith came to help him and appeared to hit him in the helmet. The referee then took him to the sideline where he met with the coaching staff. The team later said he had a neck injury but would continue to participate in the game.

“Micah Parsons was checked for a neck injury in the medical tent,” Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung said later in the second quarter. “I was told the cause was a sting, which is irritation of a nerve at the end of the neck. That helps explain why they needed so many medical professionals in the tent to get him back on the field.”

Dallas picked up a 20-15 win over the Giants and got back to .500 on the young season. The Cowboys got touchdowns from CeeDee Lamb And Rico Dowdle to help lead the offense while the defense kept New York out of the end zone. The Giants' only score came on field goals from Greg Joseph.
