New York Giants vs Cleveland Browns odds, expert picks, how to watch: Two weak offenses point to a low-scoring affair

When the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns meet in Week 3, it will be a battle of contested quarterbacks. The host Browns are favorites against the winless Giants.

Not only are the Giants 0-2, but they made the wrong kind of history in their most recent loss. By losing 21-18 to Washington on a last-second field goal, New York became the first team in NFL history to score three or more touchdowns without allowing a touchdown and still lose in regulation.

Daniel Jones continues to be the scapegoat and he certainly has a lot of room for improvement, but he is not the only culprit. The defense has not allowed a touchdown to the Commanders, but they have allowed seven field goals and this unit allows 163 rushing yards per game.

For Cleveland (1-1), Deshaun Watson has an even worse passer rating than Jones, and that's not even mentioning his off-field legal problems and calls to bench him while the investigation is ongoing.

The Browns were awful on third down (4 of 29), but their defense has given them more help. A safety late in the fourth quarter secured Cleveland's 18-13 road victory at Jacksonville last Sunday.

Both offenses struggled to throw the ball, and explosive plays were few and far between. Pass defense was certainly a problem, with Jones and Watson combined to be sacked 14 times.

Unless one of these attacking lines suddenly gets rolling, it's likely to be a low-scoring affair. If the game goes that way, then the team that had the best defense in the league last season should have the advantage.
